Pre-market session9:00 se 9:15 tak ka opening session

The 15-minute window from 9:00 to 9:15 AM on NSE and BSE when orders are collected and matched to discover the opening price before regular trading.

The pre-market, or pre-open, session runs from 9:00 to 9:15 AM on NSE and BSE. In the first eight minutes, traders can place, modify or cancel orders, but nothing executes. The next few minutes are used to match orders and compute a single opening price for each stock at which the maximum quantity can trade. The remaining time is a buffer before the regular session starts at 9:15. The pre-open exists to absorb overnight news in an orderly way rather than a chaotic first tick. If SBI closed at ₹800 and strong results came after hours, the pre-open may discover ₹825 as the opening price. Watching the indicative price and quantity during pre-open shows how the market is leaning. Orders placed here can fill at a price quite different from the previous close, so limit orders are safer than market orders in this window.
