Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the META website, learner app, community channels and any communication we have with you. It is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. What we collect

• Identity and contact: name, mobile number, email address and, if you provide it, your city and trading experience level.
• Account and learning data: courses purchased, lessons watched, progress, notes, doubts, quiz results and certificates.
• Payment data: order amount, payment status, GST invoice details and the last four digits of the payment instrument as shared by our payment partner. We never store full card numbers.
• Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, approximate location and usage analytics collected through cookies and similar technologies.
• Marketing data: the campaign or link you arrived from (UTM parameters) and your communication preferences.

3. How we use it

• To create and secure your account, including one-time passwords sent by SMS to your mobile number.
• To deliver courses, track progress, issue certificates and provide support.
• To process payments, issue GST invoices and handle refunds.
• To contact you about your enquiry, course updates, live session reminders and, with your consent, offers by SMS, email, WhatsApp or phone. You can opt out at any time.
• To improve the platform using aggregated, de-identified analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations, including tax and record-keeping requirements.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers who help us operate: payment gateway, SMS and email delivery, video hosting, cloud hosting and analytics. Each provider is bound to use your data only for the service they provide to us. We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our learners.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for login sessions and preferences, and analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser; some features may not work as a result.

6. Data retention

Account and learning data is retained while your account is active and for up to 3 years after closure so certificates can be verified. Financial records are retained for 8 years as required by Indian tax law. Lead enquiries that do not become accounts are deleted after 24 months.

7. Your rights

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your account and data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communication at any time.
• Nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of death or incapacity.

To exercise any right, email support@mmtacademy.online from your registered email. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls and monitored for unauthorised access. Video content is watermarked to your account. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

9. Children

Our services are intended for adults aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
