Contract notehar trade ka official bill

The legal document your broker sends after each trading day listing every trade, its price, brokerage, taxes and charges.

A contract note is the official record your broker must send you, usually by email, after every day you trade. It lists each order executed, the exchange, the quantity, the price, the time, and the full breakdown of charges: brokerage, STT, exchange transaction charges, SEBI turnover fee, stamp duty and GST. It is your proof of the trade if there is ever a dispute, and it is what you use to compute capital gains for tax. Read it at least the first few times. Many beginners are surprised to find that a ₹40 brokerage day actually cost ₹150 after all the levies. Say you bought 50 SBI shares at ₹800; the contract note shows the ₹40,000 trade value and every rupee added on top. Keep contract notes with your records, and match them against your trading journal.
