Brokeragebroker ki fees

The fee a broker charges for executing your buy or sell order, charged as a flat amount per order or a percentage of trade value.

Brokerage is what your broker charges to place your trades. Discount brokers in India usually charge a flat fee per executed order, often capped for intraday and F&O and sometimes zero for delivery; full-service brokers often charge a percentage of trade value. Brokerage is not the only cost. Each trade also carries STT, exchange transaction charges, SEBI fees, stamp duty and GST, which together can exceed the brokerage itself. Suppose you buy and sell ₹1,00,000 of SBI intraday with a ₹20 flat fee each side; brokerage is ₹40, but total charges might be ₹100 or more after the other levies. A trader who makes ten such round trips a day pays over ₹1,000 daily before earning anything. Read your contract note to see the full breakdown, and remember that rates change, so check the current schedule.
