Expectancyhar trade se average mein kitna milega ya jayega

The average rupee amount a trading strategy makes or loses per trade over many trades, combining win rate with average win and average loss.

Expectancy tells you what one trade of a strategy is worth on average. The formula is win rate times average win, minus loss rate times average loss. Suppose you win 40% of trades with an average win of ₹3,000 and lose 60% with an average loss of ₹1,200. Expectancy is 0.4 × 3,000 minus 0.6 × 1,200, which equals ₹480 per trade before costs. A strategy with a low win rate can still have positive expectancy if winners are large, and a strategy with a high win rate can be negative if losses are big. This is why win rate alone misleads. Expectancy only becomes meaningful over many trades, usually well over a hundred, and it must be calculated after brokerage, taxes and slippage. Track it in your trading journal. Most beginners find their real expectancy is negative, and that is the honest starting point for improving.

Leverage and spread, in plain language

Leverage makes a position bigger than your cash. The spread is the gap between the buy and sell price. One multiplies your results, the other quietly charges you on every trade.
